Alfond Center for Cancer Care: Opened in July 2007 and made possible by the tremendous vision and financial support of Maine philanthropist Harold Alfond, this 59,000-square-foot center combines high-tech equipment and employs a sophisticated approach to combat cancer that is usually found only in large, teaching hospitals.
